Some of the places named in the document include: the Manor Place of Beauly; the lands of Beaufort and Aigas; Stratherrick; Aird; Abertarf; Erchles; Strathglass; Dalcross; Belladrum; Avoch; Mid Leyes; and Daltulich.

Also mentioned in the letter are James Wallace and Robert Hamilton, two of the four clavigers. (A claviger is the holder of a key.)
