Aircraft Hangars at the Longman Aerodrome, Inverness

This photograph shows aircraft hangars at the Longman Aerodrome in Inverness. The fact that Highland Airways' planes have been camouflaged tells us that it was taken during World War II. The Air Ministry had requisitioned the airfield at the outbreak of war.

In the larger hangar the company's de Havilland DH.89 Dragon Rapide, G-ADAJ, can be seen. In addition to camouflage paint RAF roundels have also been added. Another Dragon Rapide, G-AEWL, can be seen on the right of the picture.
