This is an aerial view of Port Ellen Airport, on the Island of Islay, taken in 1968.

The first scheduled flights into the island were in 1933 when the Glasgow to Campbeltown service was extended there. The airport moved to its current site at Glenegedale in 1940 and was used during World War II predominantly for training RAF pilots.
