The old Town House in Inverness during demolition in 1878. Situated on the corner of Castle Street and High Street, it was originally built in 1708 as the town house of Lord Lovat. In 1716 it became the Burgh Town House. Inverness Castle can be seen in the background, standing on the site of the medieval castle which was wrecked by the Jacobite army and later demolished
