These thatched cottages were demolished in 1897 to make way for Crown Church, designed by Inverness architect, James Robert Rhind (1854 - 1918) and completed in 1901. The billboards attached to the cottage walls are advertising Smiths tobacco,Taylors songbird seed, and sailings by the Anchor and Union Castle Lines
