The White House

This house used to stand on what is now Thornbush Road at the end of Lower Kessock Street in Inverness. Because of its distinctive whitewash the house became a landmark on the way from the Kessock Ferry into town. It had once belonged to Mr Forbes, a local solicitor, but by the 1840s it was the home of Mr MacLennan, the secretary of the Fishermen's and Mariners' Society.

The White House was demolished in the 1930s to allow for the widening of India Street.
