Engine built by Highland Railways at Lochgorm Works, Inverness

Engine designed and built by Highland Railways at the Lochgorm Works in Inverness. This engine was first used in 1858 on the Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Line. After the opening of the line to Strome Ferry in 1870, it was found that the design of the axle did not suit the sharp curves on the line. The No 7 was converted in 1875 and was one of the predecessors of the 'Skye Bogies'
