King Edward VII was a keen hunter. While visiting the Highlands, the King visited Arthur Sassoon, tenant of Tulchan Lodge for grouse shooting on a number of occasions.

During his stays at Tulchan, the king regularly spent a day at Castle Grant, the home of Lady Seafield and spent a day shooting on Dava Moor.
