Railway Terrace, Kyle of Lochalsh

These cottages were built to house railway staff after the railway was extended from Stromeferry to Kyle of Lochalsh in 1897. The terrace was built to the east of the village, close to the station, and on the road to Balmacara and Dornie. The houses with porches, such as those in the photograph, were for higher-ranking staff
