This photograph shows the single-storey Church of Scotland manse, one of the buildings constructed under the 'Parliamentary' or 'Telford' church scheme, to provide Scotland with churches and manses. Thomas Telford was the consulting engineer and chief surveyor acting for the government. The total cost of building the church and this manse was £1480.15s. Prior to these buildings being constructed in 1827, the place of worship was Kirkton, 5 miles from Plockton. Today, the manse is in private ownership.
