Family outing by car

Duncan Macpherson, the pharmacist and photographer in Kyle of Lochalsh, spent a lot of his free time touring the area around Kyle. He was often accompanied by members of his family, in this case his daughter Mary, sister -in-law Chrissie and, on the bicycle, his son Neil. Macpherson's camera was always with him, whether he travelled by bicycle, on foot or as seen here, by car.

As the car was registered in Perthshire, it may have belonged to Mrs Macpherson's sister Chrissie, who worked there. Chrissie was a regular visitor to the Macpherson family home. The photograph was taken at Erbusaig looking over to the Cuillin hills on Skye
