Winter scene

Snow dusts the hills in the background, but it was dry enough for a car trip with the hood down. The vehicle probably belongs to Duncan Macpherson, the photographer and Kyle of Lochalsh pharmacist who may have been visiting at the house which can just be glimpsed through the Monkey Puzzle tree in the garden. The telegraph poles indicate that it has a telephone, which did not reach the Lochalsh area until the early 1920s, and despite the rough nature of the road, it was probably a main route in the area as the milestone on the right of the photograph shows. Unfortunately, the exact location of the house has not been identified
