Disembarking from the Lochnevis, Kyle pier

The T.S.M.V. Lochnevis was launched in 1934 for the Mallaig to Portree mail service. It was diesel-electric powered, and served as a minelayer during World War II. It was withdrawn from service in the 1960s. The name of the boat is visible on the lifebelt outside the bridge window. The wooden sign next to where the gangplank is about to be positioned notes that the boat is bound for Raasay and Portree. The boat has just tied up as passengers are waiting to disembark, while others wait on the pier with their luggage
