Railway Terrace, Kyle of Lochalsh

The terrace of cottages just seen on the left of the photograph was built to house railway staff after the railway was extended from Stromeferry to Kyle of Lochalsh in 1897. The terrace is in the east of the village, close to the station and to the road to Balmacara and Dornie. The sheds in the foreground were probably used in the fish curing industry
