Killilan House, Lochalsh

Killilan sits at the head of Loch Long and was the site of the Church of Fillan. He was a Columban missionary from Kintail, who was on his way to Iona when he died and was buried here at the instruction of Columba. The Killilan Estate was once owned by the Wills family, wealthy tobacco industrialists. Duncan Macpherson mentions Mr Melville Wills and the house in his books, when describing some of his local tours. The house was demolished in the 1990s
