Glenelg from Kylerhea Glen

The narrow road on the extreme left of the photograph leads down to Kylerhea where a small ferry crosses the strait to the mainland in the summer months. The narrow crossing was once one the drovers' routes from the islands to the cattle fairs at Crieff and Falkirk. On the other side of the channel, the village of Glenelg lies along the lower reaches of the river where it flows into Glenelg Bay, with the smaller township of Eilanreach just visible on the right of the Bay. The impressive remains of three brochs are situated in the glen behind Eilanreach
