The Cuillins, Skye

From near Fernilea, on the road between Portnalong and Talisker, looking south, with the melting snow of spring, Duncan Macpherson has taken a wonderful photograph of the Cuillin - the stunning mountain range on the Isle of Skye. The Cuillin attracts walkers, climbers and spectators from all over the world. The Black Cuillin Ridge has twenty Munros (peaks over 3000 feet), including the magnificent Sgurr nan Gillean (first recorded ascent in 1836), Sgurr Dearg (the Inaccessible Pinnacle), and Sgurr Alasdair - peaks photographed, climbed, and immortalized in poetry
