The current building at Kingussie High School was opened in October 1970. As part of the celebrations to mark the 40th anniversary in 2010, several pupils at Kingussie High School recently took part in oral history recordings during the school's activity weeks at the end of the academic year.

In this extract, Timothy Fraser is being interviewed by Chelsea McStay.

Interviewer: What is your name and age and what are you in?

Timothy: My name's Timothy Fraser, I'm aged thirteen, and I'm in S2.

Interviewer: Cool. Where do you live and how do you get to school?

Timothy: I live in Aviemore and I get the bus.

Interviewer: Alright. What do you wear to school and are you happy with the school uniform?

Timothy: I'm not happy with school uniform but I usually wear is black shoes, black socks, black trousers, black jumper and a white shirt, and a black, red and white tie.

Interviewer: Cool. What do you do at the interval and lunch time and what do you usually eat?

Timothy: I usually go out and play football and I eat whatever's in my packed lunch.

Interviewer: Cool. Do you ever play any games or sports at school, either before classes, in the interval, or at lunch time?

Timothy: I play, I play football and we only do - the other classes we get is just usually PE, and the sports.

Interviewer: Coo. What are your favourite subjects at school and what don't you like?

Timothy: My favourite subjects would be history and PE, and I don't like the rest.

Interviewer: Cool. Which teacher or teachers do you think you'll remember once you've left school and what will you remember about them?

Timothy: Mr Ballantyne because he shouts a lot.

Interviewer: Any more?

Timothy: No.

Interviewer: Right. And what do you hope to do once you leave school?

Timothy: Join the army.

Interviewer: Cool.
