The Commercial bank is the prominent white building in the foreground of this photograph. It was opened in 1897, shortly after the railway was extended to Kyle, and the village expanded as a consequence. The front of the bank faces onto Main Street, as does the Kyle Hotel to the right of the bank. The Kyle Free Church is visible on the hill in the background
