Duncan Macpherson named his house in Kyle of Lochalsh 'Glenquithel' after the village in Aberdeenshire where he spent his early years. Duncan moved to Kyle of Lochalsh in 1912, opened his pharmacy and spent the rest of his working life there. In the left of the photograph the roof of the Free church, built in 1902, is visible, and to the right is the scattered, but growing, village of Kyle of Lochalsh
