SY 'Killarney' at Kyle of Lochalsh

The SY 'Killarney' was a cruise ship owned by Coast Line Ltd, sailing out of Liverpool to the Western Isles. It called in regularly at Kyle of Lochalsh where Duncan Macpherson revealed in one of his books that the passengers spent a substantial amount on souvenirs. He recorded that Kyle Cricket Club played matches with the crew and passengers from the Killarney on the small sports field in the centre of the village and there are several photographs of these events in the collection. The SY 'Killarney' is seen approaching the railway pier at Kyle, with Skye in the background
