The Terrace, Kyle of Lochalsh

These houses were the first Council-built houses in Kyle. On an early hand drawn map of Kyle the row of houses was known as Baldwin Terrace, however it was subsequently named Kyle Terrace. The houses were built on the then outskirts of the village, which can be seen in the background with the hills of Skye beyond. The Free Church, built in 1902 beside the road to Plockton, can be seen on the left
