Kyle of Lochalsh

This photograph, probably taken from behind the Kyle Hotel, shows part of the village of Kyle of Lochalsh as it expanded inland up the hill behind the earlier part of the village, which centred on the jetty and railway station. The terrace of Council houses and the Free Church situated on Plockton Road can be seen at the top of the village, while the Engine Shed roof is just visible on the left, above the line of washing. The railway line seen in the bottom right hand corner runs down to the station and pier
