Skye from Kyle of Lochalsh

This photograph shows the Skye Bridge with the Cuillin Hills in the background. Construction of the bridge began in 1992 and it opened three years later on 16 October 1995. At that time the ferry service from Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin ceased. However, one can still sail 'over the sea to Skye' on the ferry from Glenelg to Kylerhea which operates seasonally from Easter to October.
