The American flag flies over the U.S. Navy base at Kyle of Lochalsh during WW1. The sailors were involved in transferring munitions and supplies from ships in the safe anchorage of Loch Alsh, to the rail depot, from where they were transported by train to other parts of the country. One of the huts pictured, named Delaware Hut, was retained after the War and used by local scouts as their headquarters
