Duncan Macpherson's Pharmacy

This is a view of the front of Duncan Macpherson's shop and pharmacy next to the ferry slipway in Kyle of Lochalsh. Macpherson established his pharmacy in 1912 at the age of 30. The building was on the junction of Main St. and Station Rd., and next to M.Murchison, General Merchants. The chemist's name above the doorway -"DUNCAN MACPHERSON M.P.S." has been altered to read "VOTE MACPHERSON M.P. X". Duncan Macpherson was the election agent for the local M.P. Ian Macpherson. The female 1920s figure in the window relates to Kodak advertising
