Mr Hosack is seated at the entrance to the Bank House, with his daughter Netta on his knee. He was the Manager of the Kyle branch of the Commercial Bank, now the Royal. Mr Hosack was a keen local historian and organiser of local events, such as exhibitions of local produce. He was also one of the organisers of the Soldiers Rest during World War I, which was run by the Red Cross in the Kyle Drill Hall
