Eilean Ban is a small island, with a lighthouse and cottage, situated in the narrows between Kyle of Lochalsh and Kyleakin. It was owned in the 1960s by 'Ring of Bright Water' author Gavin Maxwell. The island is now owned by the Eilean Ban Trust, and accessible by boat from The Bright Water Visitor Centre in Kyleakin. Eilean Ban is also incorporated into the Skye Bridge span, linking the mainland and the Isle of Skye
