St Anne's Episcopalian Church was built in the late 19th century to provide familiar services for the visitors from the South attending the famous Strathpeffer Spa. It was a sister church to St James' in Dingwall and they remain closely linked. The church was designed by John Robertson, and built on land donated by Anne, Duchess of Sutherland and Countess of Cromartie. The foundation stone was laid on 2nd April 1891 and the church officially consecrated in 1900. Duncan Macpherson, the photographer, worked at the spa pharmacy for several Summer seasons
