Aberdeen Hikers at the Skye Ferry

Many visitors crossed "over the sea to Skye" using the ferry from Kyle of Lochalsh to Kyleakin on Skye, seen here in the background. Duncan Macpherson's pharmacy was situated close to the jetty from where the ferry departed, and he was often to be found, camera in hand, recording the comings and goings. These hikers, possibly Girl Guides, are looking remarkably cheery despite the large packs on their backs
