The walk up the hill south of Kyle provided a great view of the village with the storage tank, railway terminus and jetty all visible. Eilean Ban, which now acts as a link for the Skye bridge can be seen in the centre. To the left is Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye, and the Cuillin mountain range in the distance. Macpherson used this photograph as illustration in his book Gateway to Skye
