Arnisdale

The village of Arnisdale, situated on the small bay called Camus Bàn, looks across Loch Hourn to the mountains of Knoydart. The village is almost at the end of a narrow, tortuous road which extends from Glenelg, past Sandaig which was once the home of Gavin Maxwell, and finally peters out at Corran, several miles short of the deserted village of Kinloch Hourn at the head of Loch Hourn (Loch Hell). Arnisdale is a popular departure point for trips to Kinloch Hourn by boat, and the summit of Ladhar Bheinn on Knoydart which rises to 1020m, affording spectacular views across to Skye, the Cuillin and the islands of Rum and Eigg
