Queuing for the boat

This photograph was taken at Kyle of Lochalsh, not on the jetty used by the ferry, but close to it, probably on the footpath from the Station Hotel, now the Lochalsh Hotel. The party gathered on the path, equiped with umbrellas and oilskins, appear to be about to board the rowing boat, crewed by sailors. These are almost certainly not ferry crew, and may be from a cruise ship or naval vessel anchored off Kyle
