Duncan Macpherson with camera

Kyle of Lochalsh was still expanding when this photograph was taken, and few houses had been built outwith the main part of the village. In a rare shot of the chemist and photographer Duncan Macpherson, he is on the bare hillside above the village just behind the Drill Hall, not far from his own house, possibly making adjustments to his camera. The road to Plockton runs along the base of the rocky hillside in the background
