Pipe Band on Main Street, Kyle of Lochalsh

A pipe band, possibly from Lewis, leads a small contingent of soldiers down Main Street in Kyle of Lochalsh, past the post office and Bank of Scotland. It has been suggested that the soldiers were returning to Stornoway from their Territorial Army Camp, and would have been heading for the railway pier where the steamers docked on the Mallaig-Kyle-Stornoway route
