Luib, Isle of Skye

The old crofting township of Luib lies on the shore of Loch Ainort on the east coast of Skye. It straddles a bend in the A850 main road from Kyleakin to Portree, which was constructed round the shore of the loch to avoid climbing the hill above Dunan. Most of the thatched houses that once comprised the village have been slated, but a couple remain. The island of Raasay can be seen on the left in the background, with Scalpay on the right
