Originally a crofting and fishing village, Duirinish is situated along the banks of Allt Dhuirinish.The tall bridge, built in 1826, on the extreme right of this panoramic photograph dominates the eastern entrance to the village, while at the western end is located an interesting group of traditionally built barns and byres, although the original thatch has been replaced by corrugated iron
