Plock of Kyle and Cullin Hills

Duncan Macpherson writes in his books of frequent early-morning walks before beginning his day in the chemist's shop. One favourite destination was just north of Kyle where he could look across to the spectacular Cuillin range on the Isle of Skye. As well as dispensing advice and medicines to the local community, Macpherson's shop was a great source of information, particularly for tourists to the area. He wrote three books about his life in Kyle, and published numerous postcards, and booklets with local scenes. This photograph was one of a series of postcards he produced
