Grave Slab of a Knight, Skeabost Island

This 16th century grave slab lies on Skeabost Island on the River Snizort, Isle of Skye. The slab depicts a knight wearing a quilted coat, holding a large sword.

Skeabost Island (sometimes known as St Columba's Isle or Eilean Chaluim Chille) contains the ruins of two churches: the Old Snizort Parish Church and the much earlier teampall, or chapel, of St Columba.
