Argyle Boarding House, Kencil Roag, Dunvegan, Isle of Skye

Although this house is now a private residence, called Argyll House, records confirm that it was a boarding house certainly as far back as the 1930s when this photograph was taken, and for many years since. It is situated on the main Dunvegan/Sligachan road on the west side of the Isle of Skye. Being only a couple of miles from the village of Dunvegan, and Dunvegan Castle, it would have been ideally situated for visitors wanting to explore this area. The main road runs near the front of the house, but from the back, there would be lovely views of MacLeod's Tables, Healabhal Mhor and Healabhal Bheag.
