North of Staffin Bay, on the east side of the Isle of Skye, is the township of Digg. The township faces the wide sweep of Staffin Bay and as a backdrop, the rugged hills of the Quiraing create a stunning contrast. Just to the left of this photograph is the narrow, single track road which crosses the island to Uig.
This photograph shows the well tended, ordered fields of this crofting township with evidence of the fields being turned ready for spring planting. Staffin remains a part of Skye where crofts are being worked, and the land passed down through the generations.
