Charles McDonald was the Parish Priest for Moidart and the author of the book 'Moidart, or Among the Clan Ranalds', a history of the parish and of the Clan Ranald who originated from there.

Eilean Fhiannan has acted as a burial ground for the Lairds of Clan Ranald over the centuries.
