This photograph shows the 'Golden Hinde' at the quayside at Inverness in the mid-1990s. This modern, full-sized replica of Sir Francis Drake's original was built in Appledore, Devon and launched in 1973. Since that time it has travelled more than 140,000 miles.

Since 1996 the 'Golden Hinde' has been berthed at St Mary Overie's Dock, in Bankside, Southwark, London, between Southwark Cathedral and Clink Street
