The Plough Inn, Rosemarkie

The Plough Inn in Rosemarkie is a former drovers' and travellers' inn which dates from the 17th century.

Before the advent of the train in the second half of the 19th century drovers used the old established routes to drive cattle on the hoof from the Highlands to the markets in the south such as Falkirk and Crieff. Inns were established along the routes to provide food and shelter for the drovers
