Duich House, Ratagan

This Georgian house dates from 1834 and has similarities with another former manse, at Glenelg. Duich House overlooks Loch Duich at Leachachan, between Letterfearn and Ratagan. The chimney stacks positioned on the ridge of the roof rather than on the gable walls indicate that the hearths are positioned on the internal walls of the house. Alterations were made to the house in 1865, including reversing the entrance, so that the facade pictured was originally the front.
