Ardverikie House

Ardverikie House stands on Loch Laggan near to Kingussie. The present house was built in the 1870s to replace the previous house which had burnt down. The new house was designed by John Rhind of Inverness and was nearing completion in 1873 when a large part of it, again, burnt down. After that plans were enlarged and the house was completed in 1877. Today it is well known as the fictitious Glenbogle House from the 'Monarch of the Glen' television series.
