The Lodge, Isle of Eigg

The Lodge on Eigg was designed by Robert Mauchlen and Sir Walter Runciman in 1926-27. It was built to replace a previous lodge (built in 1898) which had burnt down. The building is of a neo colonial design with an Italianate frontage. The Lodge is surrounded by a semi-tropical garden which makes good use of the warm climate provided by the Gulf Stream.
