The Bosville Hotel and Restaurant, Portree

Bosville Terrace overlooks the harbour in Portree. The name is a reminder that the first Lord Macdonald, Sir Alexander, married Elizabeth Diana Bosville, an English heiress. The terrace was originally a series of houses but subsequently became the King's Haven and the Bosville Hotel and Restaurant, the latter established in 1965 by the MacLeod family. In the 1990s, the Bosville Hotel expanded, absorbing the adjoining buildings and is currently (2011) an award-winning visitor establishment.
