Beaton's Cottage, Bornesketaig, Isle of Skye

This cottage is situated at Bornesketaig, a scattered crofting settlement in the north of the Trotternish peninsula on the Isle of Skye. It is a rare surviving example of a traditional dwelling on the island. It was built in about 1880, along with several others, for the Gillies brothers and was occupied until 1980. It was then acquired by the National Trust for Scotland, re-thatched and restored. It now serves as self-catering accommodation and is known as Beaton's Cottage.
