Inverie, on the north shore of Loch Nevis, is the only village on the Knoydart peninsula. The peninsula is only accessible by foot or boat and is not accessible by road from the rest of mainland Scotland. A passenger ferry connects Inverie with Mallaig. The village is home to around 60 people and The Old Forge pub which is recognised by the "Guinness Book of Records" as the most remote pub on mainland Britain.
